I am currently an Associate Control Systems Engineer at Contech Control Services, where I work on the design, implementation, and maintenance of control systems for various customers. I graduated from Texas A&M University in May 2024 with a Bachelors in Computer Science, with an emphasis in robotics and high-performance computing. I love to learn, and I am always looking for new opportunities to grow and develop my skills.
Feel free to contact me at CRNicholls20@gmail.com, or through my LinkedIn page.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, rock climbing, cooking and baking, chess, card games, and TTRPGs. I am currently participating in 2 DnD games, run oneshots from time to time, and am working on a novel in my free time.
Some fun facts about me:
My favorite foods to cook are Indian and Japanese (Dal Makhani, Chana Masala, Chicken Curry, Oyakodon)
I started coding in 2013, both with MIT's Scratch program and LEGO's Mindstorms, before moving on to VEX robotics with RobotC and Purdue's PROS, and eventually our own custom system that implemented an Event Scheduler called LibIterativeRobot. In high school, I began programming for FIRST Robotics, as well as running the hydrogen-powered RC Car division of the team. This continued through college, where I worked with TAMU Robomasters, which included the running of the first Robomasters NA competitions
I have a deepset love of fantasy, and just finished Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive, which has rekindled my love for epic fantasy books. I am also working my way through Terry Pratchet's Discworld series!
On the side, I am also very involved with TTRPGs, including drafting some classes for D&D 5e here.
